HEALTH BENEFITS OF TEAS Tuesday, February 7th 7-9 PM After water, tea is the most consumed beverage in the world and also one of the healthiest. Teas are easy to make, and the varieties are as vast as your imagination. You will learn what the different types of tea are, the difference between “true” tea and herbal tea and discuss the attributes of different herbs in tea, including many you can grow yourself. There will be a tea tasting with various teas available to sample. Cost: $15

WINTER HEALTH THE NATURAL WAY Thursday, February 16th 7 PM – 9 PM
How to deal with those colds and the flu this winter? We will discuss practical tips and herbal ideas to help you feel better and stay well. We will also discuss the immune system, how it works, natural ways to strengthen it and herbs that can aid the process including tonics and teas you can make at home. SOAPMAKING 101 Tuesday, February 21st 6 PM – 9 PM
Learn how to make beautiful, affordable soaps for yourself or to give as gifts – with no artificial scents or animal products, and no complicated equipment! In this class, you’ll make both glycerin and lye soaps to take home and we'll discuss the techniques and supplies needed for each. Some molds will be provided, but please bring any soap molds. MAKING BALMS & SALVES Thursday, March 22nd 7 PM – 9 PM
Learn all about herbal balms and salves, their many uses and how to make your own. This is a hands-on workshop covering recipes for balms for skin care, diaper rash and more. One of my favorite things to make in winter in lip balm and we will make lip balm during the workshop for participants to take home. How do you get lip balm in those little tubes? Come find out! COOKING WITH TEA Monday March 26th 7 PM – 9 PM
Learn to do more with your tea than drink it! Tea has been used as a flavor and ingredient in cooking for thousands of years and is just starting to get popular in the U.S. Learn what teas match best with different foods, various methods to use tea in recipes and taste some delicious foods with tea. Go home with recipes to try and lots of ideas. Cost: $20

HERB GARDEN PLANNING & DESIGN Thursday, April 12th 7 PM – 9 PM This workshop will help you plan and design that herb garden you've always wanted. We will discuss various herbs, growing requirements and develop individual garden plans based your needs and environment. For both the new gardener or someone who wants to do a garden makeover, plan now for Spring. A garden planning binder is provided with all you need to plan your garden. Cost: $20

GROWING ORGANICALLY Thursday, April 19th 7 PM – 9 PM
What does it mean to grow organically and have an organic garden? We will talk about the organic garden and how you can grow organically at home, reviewing soil, fertilizers, pest control and organic plants and seeds. Beneficial for herb, vegetable and flower gardens, it is easier than you might think. Cost: $15

AROMATHERAPY BASICS Thursday, May 3rd 7 - 9 PM What is aromatherapy and how do you use it? Come hear the history of this fascinating science, learn what essential oils are and how essential oils are used. Each participant will make an oil, cream or spray of their choosing during the workshop. Come have fun, make something nice and join the aromatherapy world! Cost: $20

HERB GARDENING IN CONTAINERS Thursday, May 17th 7 PM – 9 PM
Want to grow herbs but don’t have the space and/or time for a garden? Many herbs grow well in containers and are an easy way to have fresh herbs available throughout the year. We will discuss what herbs work best in containers and how to grow herbs optimally in a container. Each participant will make their own container of herbs – all plants and supplies will be provided. Cost: $25

KITCHEN HERBS Tuesday, June 5th 7 PM – 9 PM
Growing your own herbs for cooking is healthy, fun and creative. For both the experienced herb gardener and those new to herbs, we will discuss kitchen herbs, how they are grown and harvested, how to use them in cooking and how to preserve them. Recipes will be shared and herbal goodies will be available to snack on! Cost: $15
